Amy Goodman doesn't care about you.

Executed by hanging
On June 18th, 1983, Mona Mahmudnizhad, and nine other girls and women were hanged in a prison in the town of Shiraz, Iran. Ms. Mahmudnizhad was either 16 or 17 years old, according to various media reports. She and the other girls and women were executed for practicing their Baha'i faith and teaching it to children at a religious school.
Unfortunately, you cannot read about Baha'is or anything about how Iran persecutes anyone on Democracy Now. The reason is simple. Amy Goodman doesn't really care about "Peace" or "Justice" or "Racism".
But don't feel alone. Ms. Goodman doesn't care about a lot of people. She doesn't care about North Koreans who starved to death. Not the starving people of Zimbabwe. Not the 300,000 Shiites who are buried in mass graves thanks to Saddam Hussein. Not the Iraqi Kurds who died from chemical attacks. Not the poor people of flood ravaged Myanmar. Not the girls and women who were not allowed to work or go to school under the Taliban in Afghanistan. No mention of how Che Guevara killed people for a living. Hardly a mention of how Stalin killed 20 million of his people. And Mao, perhaps 50 million. Unfortunately, the only way Mona could get coverage on Democracy Now is to sneak into Israel and blow herself up on a bus. This is what Amy Goodman calls, "Resistance".
The truth is that Amy Goodman and her sick cult are what is left of people who called themselves communists, socialists, anarchists, Marxists, "True Marxists", Leninists, Trotskyites, Bolsheviks, etc. Actually, some of them still do. She blindly worships anyone who hates America. Whether it's Fidel Castro, President Ahmadinejad of Iran, ( the man with no homosexuals in his country), Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, President Assad of Syria, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and every other leader who complains about, "Imperialism".
The DemocracyNow.org website has a search box. If you try it, you find a vast archive of tens of thousands of articles. You can hardly find a mention of Pol Pot, the leader of the Cambodian genocide. Besides killing many of his own people, his army killed all the ethnic Chinese and Vietnamese people in Cambodia. I guess that doesn't qualify as racism? You can read how the Cambodian genocide was the fault of Henry Kissinger, Prime Minister Thatcher and President Reagan. , none of whom have ever even visited Cambodia.
She is also a staunch opponent of capital punishment, but only in America. Hold your breath until she does mentions the name of anyone executed in China or Iran. She complains about Saudi Arabia, but calls it the "US supported Saudi regime". This transfers all responsibility to "American Imperialists".
Another prominent target of Ms. Goodman's wrath are the men and women of law enforcement. She never seems to have anything good to say about them. While police occasionally do bad things, are they really an evil force in the world? Would we be better off without them? Is their bravery so meaningless? Of course, when people shoot at them and occasionally even kill them, they always seem to be innocent. And of course, we don't need prisons either. We can let all these fine people free. Perhaps, we can put them all in Ms. Goodman's house.
In fact, she only criticizes violence, racism and homophobia when it is committed by white people.
Ms. Goodman has a special dislike for Israel. This may confuse people since she is of Jewish descent. The truth is that she is part of a very sick sub-culture in the Jewish community called the "Radical Left". They are mostly atheists who believe that all the Jewish people in the world should abandon their religion and heritage and join the "Worldwide revolution" to dismantle Western, industrial society.
This cult was actually started by another Jewish man named Karl Marx, who wrote an essay called, "On the Jewish Question", where he basically said that in order for the world's Jews to achieve equality they should abandon their religion and heritage and join the worldwide revolution to kill all the rich people.
She is the first one to proudly tell you that she is not part of the "Small minority of Jews" who have hijacked the US government, media and business community just for the purpose of persecuting Arabs. She criticizes Israel in almost every show. Her message is that Israel enjoys war. It surrounded by neighbors who desperately seek peace. These peace activists include, Osama Bin Laden and President Ahmadinejad of Iran, and the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah, who are good people slandered by Zionists. Of course, Jimmy Carter appeared on her show to sell his book and in a sad attempt to get someone to like him.
Of course she and Mr. Gonzalez have done many programs on 9/11. But Mr. Bin Laden has nothing to worry about. He is never criticized once. In fact, she devoted a whole show to a report that Israeli Intelligence knew the 9/11 attacks were coming and didn't tell anyone. This way her viewers can blame Israel for the whole thing. Certainly not the "downtrodden masses" who had no other way to fight "American Imperialism".

Obviously, Israel must be the world's biggest problem.
If you go the DemocracyNow.org, "Staff" page, you will notice that not one member of her staff comes from any communist or former communist country. Nobody from China, Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, Poland, and the list goes on. Anyone who has lived in any of these countries appreciates what America has to offer. They are mostly comfortable young people who hate their parents, went to world class universities and feel guilty that they didn't grow up hungry.
Yes, this is America. She is entitled to her opinion.
She may say America is not really a Democracy and
Israel is the most evil nation on Earth.
But we know better.
